The SDHC office is located in the heart of downtown San Diego, which is 4 miles from the San Diego International Airport. The estimated driving time is ten minutes. While parking is available (The San Diego Housing Commission has an underground parking garage that charges $8/day. A public lot is available across the street with an early bird special of $5/day.), several hotels are within walking distance of the training center. Suggested hotels include:
- Sheraton – Symphony Hall - Within 6 blocks of the training center
- Westin – Gaslamp Quarter San Diego - About 8 blocks from the training center
An excellent breakfast and lunch will be provided by the training center. Once training has ended for the day, you may find an endless variety of moderately-priced restaurants in downtown San Diego and within walking distance of SDHC and hotel locations. The Gaslamp Quarter, which is a National Historic District, houses many of the most popular restaurants and shops in the city. Some suggestions include:
