NAHRO National Roll of Achievers

Join NAHRO in honoring the accomplishments of those that have benefited from HUD-funded programs and have made noteworthy efforts to improve themselves or their community.

NAHRO formalized the process, started several years ago, of honoring HUD program participants who serve as examples of the value and viability of our nation's housing and community development programs. Starting in January 2000, NAHRO has maintained a Roll of Achievers Database on its web site and sent certificates of recognition to all those who are registered on the National Roll of Achievers.

To register a public housing or Section 8 resident, or another community beneficiary of a HUD program, NAHRO agency members may complete the registration form, and send it with $15 for processing to NAHRO. We will send a certificate of recognition, suitable for framing, to either the sponsoring agency or the recipient. Allow 4-6 weeks for delivery from the time you send in your registration.

Those listed on the National Roll of Achievers who register and attend a NAHRO National Conference will receive special recognition at the conference, including receiving their certificate mounted on a plaque, their name in the conference program, and acknowledgement at the general session. Additional special activities may be planned for these residents.

Stories of some of those listed on the National Roll of Achievers will be used in the Journal of Housing and Community Development, in Congressional testimony, or in other NAHRO publications. These stories show the public the success of assisted housing, Family Self-Sufficiency, HOME, Community Development Block Grants or other HUD programs, and the positive influence of these programs in the lives of ordinary citizens.
