- Victoria Lewis-Dunn, Austin , TX
Common Solutions is an organization that serves as a neutral third party mediator, helping willing participants to develop mutually satisfying solutions to disputes. Working with disputes ranging from family strife to community issues. A former lawyer, Lewis-Dunn opened the firm in an attempt to help people resolve disputes in a less adversarial manner. She offered a service that she believes helps individuals and the community, and will use the grant to help expand the business and allow for a greater caseload.
- Rebecca Pine, Dover , NJ
Using Pine's extensive knowledge of herbal products, Evergreen Herbs makes products for personal care, prenatal care, massage blends, and herbal teas for sale. Coupled with educational packages, the firm works to help people incorporate herbs and herbal products into their daily lives, working to help people care for themselves and the environment. Pine will use the FARE award money to expand the educational capacity of the business.
- Kelly and Laura Whiting, Salt Lake City , UT
The Whitings have guided Neighborhood Network to an impressive history of existence already, providing a wide range of state-of-the-art computer design, troubleshooting, and website design services, among others. In a field in which profits are sometimes rare, Network Neighborhood, Inc., has generated a profit after only a year. They plan to use the grant from the FARE award to expand the business and make it more affordable for individuals and small businesses.
