Overview:
By achieving NAHRO's Certified Management Executive (CME), an individual has demonstrated that they have the knowledge, skills, and abilities required of a competent and effective manager and leader at the executive and senior management level in a housing and/or redevelopment/community development organization. This is the highest level of educational achievement offered under the NAHRO Professional Development System (NPDS). The requirements for the CME include experience, education, passing the CME Exam, and adhering to NAHRO's Professional Code of Conduct. The body of knowledge on which the CME is based includes senior level managerial and leadership concepts and best practices; understanding of legal issues including fair housing and procurement; and, knowledge of HUD's Affordable/Assisted Housing Programs.
