Succession Planning

Everyone agrees that in today’s environment agencies are doing more with less. Planning for the future may seem ridiculous when there’s so much that must be done today. However, commissioners and staff who make the time to develop a succession plan discover that the benefits outweigh the effort.

In the Succession Planning seminar, commissioners and senior-level staff (executive directors, deputy directors, department directors, and division directors) will learn the principles and methods of succession planning. Participants use proven tools and key steps to draft an actual succession plan. This course distinguishes planning for emergencies from longer-term planning, and explains how to drive succession planning deeper into the organization. (1.2 CEUs)
