Executive Management and Leadership

Management and Leadership--is there a difference? The answer is, “yes!” Executives and senior staff at times manage and at other times lead. How do you get excellent performance from your people? How do you manage the complexities of change while fulfilling the mission and vision of your housing and community development organization?

The ability to execute a variety of roles effectively is critical. Executive or senior staff often reach a fork in the road. One path requires knowing when managing people is the best choice. The other requires knowing when leading people is the path to achieving outcomes necessary for success.

Executive management positions in organizations are complex. Achieving the balance between work and people that results in a productive and satisfying organizational culture is a constant challenge. Dealing with change, motivation, and achieving agency goals are challenging responsibilities. Successful executives know they must continue to learn and grow to continually improve their organization’s results.

NAHRO’s Executive Management and Leadership Seminar is focused on providing contemporary models, and on affording practice and discussions that support executives and senior staff to meet today’s challenges. Participants will focus on dealing with change, developing strategic initiatives, critical thinking, and creating a culture of excellent performance and productivity within their organization. The Seminar provides the opportunity for reflection, renewal, and exploration that top performing professionals acknowledge is essential to staying at the “top of their game.” (1.95 CEUs)
