Objectives: This e-learning will cover what green assessments should address as well as the requirements for selecting a firm and the minimum requirements for technical analysis. It will also cover the areas that need to be assessed and certifications and ratings.

B. Requirements for Selecting a Firm
- Similar experience
- Trained / knowledgeable of building science, green building, technology
- Sample report (usable format, relevant data, useful conclusions)
C. Minimum Requirements for Technical Analysis
- Survey of existing conditions
- Understanding of existing procedures
- Uses industry recognized approach (ASHRAE, Nat’l labs, etc.)
D. Areas to Assess
- Energy efficiency
- Water conservation
- IAQ
- Site sustainability
- Materials and construction
- Resource efficiency
E. Certifications, Ratings
- Buildings, homes (LEED, Energy Star, EarthCraft, etc.)
- Industry specific (GreenGuard, Green Seal, FSC, KCMA ESP, etc.)
