What's Happening
Fiscal Year 2003 HOME Funds AvailableCongress appropriated a total of $1.925 billion for the HOME program for Fiscal Year (FY) 2003 which began October 1, 2002. HUD has allocated those funds to states and local Participating Jurisdictions (PJs) and has made those allocation amounts available. The amounts are listed at the following link http://www.nahro.org/documents/2003/FY03cdappro.pdf. Please note that the amounts allocated for HOME are listed in the second column. The amounts listed as "state" refer to the HOME funding provided to each state for distribution to smaller communities. The agencies that administer the HOME program for each state and local jurisdiction are shown at the following link: http://www.hud.gov/offices/cpd/affordablehousing/programs/home/contacts/index2.cfm.
HUD Makes Available Income Calculator The HUD Office of Affordable Housing has announced that the HOME Income Calculator is now available. The calculator enables PJ staff to determine the income eligibility of applicants to HOME-funded programs and to calculate the amount of HOME program assistance each applicant may receive (when applicable). The complex technical information and definitions involved in determining income and allowances are presented in concise, easy-to-understand language, and useful forms and tables are available to download and/or print for everyday office use. The product may be helpful to both PJ and nonprofit staff implementing HOME-funded programs. The HOME Income Calculator is available at http://www.hud.gov/offices/cpd/affordablehousing/training/homefront/calculator/index.cfm
