Committee Volunteer Form

NAHRO Wants YOU!

National NAHRO, as well as the Regions and Chapters are looking for motivated individuals fill vacancies on committees for the next biennium (October 2009-October 2011 - appointments were completed 9/09).  Occasional replacements are needed, so please let us know if you are interested!

There are numerous committees, and each has a specific charge. Examples of committee responsibilities include: developing program policy positions, shaping and setting requirements for   professional development  offerings,   articulating  regional/chapter  positions on issues, enhancing communication between the local level and national NAHRO, and serving as an ambassador and advocate for NAHRO at all levels.

COMMISSIONERS supports programs to expand the skills of commissioners to effectively discharge their responsibilities. Works with staff, leadership and membership at all levels of the Association in fulfillment of these purposes.
COMMUNITY REVITALIZATION AND DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE addresses a broad range of issues related to the economic vitality of cities and the development and conservation of neighborhoods, including administrative, legislative, regulatory, and funding issues of community development programs and operations.
HOUSING COMMITTEE addresses program and policy issues related to public housing, Section 8, tenant-based and project-based housing and other programs related to affordable housing.
INTERNATIONAL COMMITTEE collects and disseminates international and professional practices to the NAHRO membership that may be of value in policy formulation, both for NAHRO nationally and for agencies at the local level.
MEMBER SERVICES COMMITTEE serves as the advocate for members to ensure that NAHRO's services and benefits meet member needs.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE focuses on career identification, training, education, certification, credentialing, and the professional advancement of NAHRO members.
BUDGET AND ADMINISTRATION COMMITTEE Provides critical and careful oversight of NAHRO's fiscal and administrative policies.
BOARD OF ETHICS AND CREDENTIALING TRUSTEES (BECT) addresses issues related to NAHRO Certification Programs, the enforcement of Code of Professional Conduct, and Ethics Awareness Initiatives.
LEGISLATIVE NETWORK assists staff with the dissemination of action-oriented information from national NAHRO to the local level.
SMALL AGENCIES TASK FORCE identifies barriers faced by small agencies in administering their programs and recommends actions that can be taken to remove or ease those barriers.

MANUFACTURERS AND SUPPLIERS COUNCIL is an organization of NAHRO agency members who supply goods and services to the low- and moderate-income housing and community development industry.
