Managing Maintenance

Centralize or decentralize all or part of the operation? These are questions that agencies must address in the asset management environment. First, learn what each option can mean for your agency; then sharpen your management planning, including your work order system and personnel management skills. Learn how to formulate work standards and improve your PHAS score; communicate effectively with staff members and residents. Through case studies, experience new ways of doing the business of maintenance. (1.95 CEUs)

Who Should Attend

Property Managers who want to improve their housing agency’s maintenance operations, i.e. Maintenance Directors, Maintenance Foremen, Executive/Deputy Directors, and Maintenance Supervisors.

What You Will Learn

The first two days are devoted to maintenance management. Day three concentrates on action plan development — maintenance management staff working with residents and Executive Directors. Topics include:
