Q: What are the duties of the Commissioners Committee?

A. According to the NAHRO Constitution, the Commissioners Committee shall:

• serve to broaden the constituency supporting the goals and objectives of the Association
• support programs to expand the skills of commissioners to effectively discharge their responsibilities; and
• work with staff, leadership and membership at all levels of the Association in fulfillment of these purposes

Q. How do I become a better advocate?

A. Read the Key Committee Members list then complete and return the Commmissioners Congressional Relationship survey.This survey will assist NAHRO in identifying relationships between commissioners and their members of key Congressional committees. .

Q. How can I volunteer to serve on a national committee or task force?

A. Here is a step-by-step guide:

1. You must be a NAHRO Associate or Allied Individual member (membership information is available here).
2. Advise your Regional President that you are interested in serving on one of the National Standing Committees or task forces, complete an Associates Participation Form and forward to Sylvia Moore Bowen.

It is important that you become active in your local chapter and region. This experience prepares you for national standing committee work.
