NAHRO Monitor/Website Ad Information

The NAHRO Monitor is a newsletter published by the National Association of Housing & Redevelopment Officials (NAHRO) on the 15th & the end of the month, excluding December 31, & is mailed 1st class. Ads refer to job listings, Request for Proposals (RFPs), Request for Qualifications (RFQs), Invitation to Bid  (IFB) and Industry Ads.

ALL ADS MUST BE SUBMITTED ONLINE FOR PLACEMENT AND/OR POSTING AND ONCE SUBMITTED, CREDIT CARDS ARE NOT AUTOMATICALLY BILLED..

WHO CAN POST AN AD?

  • Members and non-members, including companies placing ads on behalf of clients who have positions related to the housing and community development industry, can have ads posted to our website and/or published in our newsletter, the NAHRO Monitor.

  • Ads will be accepted after the deadline date based on available newsletter space. Monitor Editor maintains editorial discretion of all Monitor material.

  1. ALL ADS MUST BE SUBMITTED ONLINE -  ALL PAYMENTS MUST BE RECEIVED PRIOR TO POSTING AND/OR PUBLICATION OF AD.

  2. ONCE SUBMITTED, ADS WILL BE REVIEWED BY NAHRO STAFF FIRST;

  3. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF PLACEMENT WILL BE SENT;

  4. PAYMENT WILL BE PROCESSED; AND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF PAYMENT SENT; and

  5.  AD PLACED ON WEBSITE AND/OR NAHRO MONITOR NEWSLETTER.

  6. NOTE: You will have 20 minutes to complete the form. If you have not completed the form within that timeframe, the system will reset the form and you will lose the data you entered.


AD DEADLINES: 

  • MINIMUM RUN (NAHRO Monitor only or Combination run )  -  10 working days after posting/publication date.

  • MAXIMUM RUN (Website only run) - 30 days

  • Ads with open until filled are acceptable. Ads with no deadline date will run 30 days.

  • NO BLIND ADS WILL BE ACCEPTED.

AD RUN TYPES:

  1.   Website only (posted within 24 hours after payment is received)
  2.   NAHRO Monitor -  newsletter only
  3.   Combination (NAHRO Monitor newsletter and website). Please note: The ad noted in the submission form will be the version for both the newsletter and           online postings. 

AD RATES: The online form AUTOMATICALLY calculates and displays the lines PER CHARACTER. 

  • Website only or Monitor newsletter only

             Members -  first 5 lines, including ad title, free, then $20.00 per line thereafter
             Non Members - first 5 lines, including ad title, $200.00, then $40.00 per line thereafter.

  • Combination - NAHRO Monitor newsletter and Website

             Members -  member rate plus $50.00 additional.
             Non Members - non member rate plus $200.00 additional.

INDUSTRY AD:

This feature is designated for Manufacturers and Suppliers Council members ONLY:

Ad placement is limited to two (2) times per year in 6 month increments at the member rate. Ads placed more than 2 times in 6 month increments are charged the non-member rate. See maximum and minimum run times above.

Please note: Industry ads are placed on a first come, first served basis.


HOW TO PLACE AN AD:

  • NAHRO Members: you MUST log in with your userid/password in order to take advantage of the member rate. If you do not know your userid/password, please click on Forgot password on the upper right side of the NAHRO Home page or contact Customer Relations/Member Services - 202-289-3500.  

  • Consultants who are placing ads on behalf of a member agency, click Consultant, then in the next field place the Agency's Name;  Member status will be verified during the staff's review of the ad.

  • NOTE: You will have 20 minutes to complete the form. If you have not completed the form within that timeframe, the system will reset the form and you will lose the data you entered.

  • Non Members and Members who have logged in: Click on  INDUSTRY JOBS link on top right corner  Or ‘Industry Jobs’ banner on the NAHRO home page 

  • If you are placing an ad for the first time and are not a member, you will see a prompt to log in, CLICK Cancel and proceed to the next step 

  • Click on Post a Job

  • Fill in all fields

  • Non Members:  please enter your name, email address then the full address, phone and fax number in the field labeled      

Please note:  for combo or newsletter only, your position deadline
can be no earlier than 10 working days after publication date (combo or newsletter only).  
If your deadline does not fit this criteria, you will be contacted via email.

  • make sure you place contact's name and email address to ensure all responses go directly to them. if you wish responses to go to a website address, enter it in the appropriate field: Website URL

  • Type in your job description. As you enter the information, your rate is calculated for you. 


TO PREVIEW SUBMISSION  BEFORE YOU SUBMIT:

  • click the blue Preview button,  then hit OKAY.

  • should you need to make changes please do so at this point.

  • to print out the previewed submission with the price, click the blue Preview button, hit the PRINT THE PREVIEW button. 

  • When you are ready, hit the SUBMIT button to submit your ad. Once you hit SUBMIT, YOU CANNOT GO BACK AND MAKE ANY CHANGES.
  • The ad will be forwarded to the NAHRO staff for review. 
  • You will receive notification that the ad has been received, posted and/or prepped for placement in the NAHRO Monitor.
  • When payment has been processed, you will receive an ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF PAYMENT  email along with a receipt.

CANCELLATION:

  • Up to four days after posting of ad - no charge.

  • Five or more days after posting of ad - full charge.


METHOD OF PAYMENT:

  • Payment must be received prior to the placement of any ad.

  • We accept: Check/Money Order, Credit Card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express).

  • For advertisers paying by credit card, the ad is prepared based on run type. The advertiser receives an acknowledgement of payment along with a snapshot of the ad as it appears (for website only and for combo) . Advertisers who placed newsletter only can view the pdf version of the newsletter online on publication date by going to Publications/Communications, NAHRO Monitor then select the issue (pdf form).

  • For advertisers paying by check, send payments to:

    • NAHRO, P.O. Box 90487, Washington, DC  20090.

    • Note that it is for a NAHRO Monitor only, website only or combo ad.

    • Should you need verification of rate to make a check payment, please use the preview function to view and print out the ad and the rate. If you failed to get the rate, contact Monitor/Website Advertising Manager for a snapshot of the ad/price.

    • Once check is received by the Accounting Department, the ad will be placed and acknowledgment of payment will be sent.

  • If your company is not a NAHRO member and is placing ads on behalf of NAHRO member clients, you will be emailed a snapshot of how the ad appears on the website.


OUTSTANDING BALANCES:

  • Any advertiser with an outstanding balance of 60+ days overdue or an agent/recruitment company submitting ads on their behalf cannot place additional ads until the outstanding balance has been remitted. If an advertiser wishes to place an ad and our records indicate an outstanding balance is present, kindly provide check number and NAHRO order number if you have remitted payment, otherwise please pay outstanding balance before newsletter deadline date in case of combination ad placement.
