Barbara Cook Memorial Educational Scholarship established

The Mountain Plains National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials (NAHRO) announces the creation of the Barbara Cook Memorial Educational Scholarship Fund. The scholarship was created in memory of former MPNAHRO president Barbara Cook from Huron. With this fund, two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded each year. The scholarships may be used for any expenses directly related to post-secondary education. The applicant and their family must reside at or receive direct housing benefits for at least 12 months prior to application through any housing program administered by a MPNAHRO member agency.

The Mountain Plains NAHRO Regional Council invites the Huron community to take part in this Barbara Cook Memorial Educational Scholarship fund by making a memorial donation.

Scholarship applications are available at www.mpnahro.org/college-scholarships and must be submitted  by May 16.

MPNAHRO president Patty Webster said, “We want to let people know of this opportunity to honor Barb and the great work she did for housing in your community. Barb’s influence was powerful and we would like the scholarship fund to be powerful in many recipients’ lives.”
