May 13 Online e-Briefing Session

The Family Self-Sufficiency Program and ROSS
1:30 PM - 3:00 (Eastern Daylight Savings Time)
This special e-briefing on the Resident Opportunity and Self-Sufficiency Program (ROSS) is designed to provide the latest information and “how-to” guidance for PHAs and Resident Councils of all sizes who are interested in providing and/or coordinating resident services. This distance learning is for Executive Directors, supportive services program administrators, grant-writing staff and Resident Council leaders.
The objectives of the presentation are: 1) to understand the new direction in the ROSS program, as embodied in the soon to be published SuperNOFA; 2) to examine the ingredients of successful ROSS and FSS models; 3) to discuss how the new ROSS model will change how PHAs undertake supportive service programs; and 4) to discuss how Resident Councils can secure more ROSS grants.
The presenters will be Ron Ashford, HUD Director of PHA Supportive Service Programs; Nancy Scull, Family Self Sufficiency (FSS) Coordinator and John Vass, Grants Coordinator, Housing Opportunities Commission, Montgomery County, MD; and Ethel Velez, Resident Leader at the Johnson Development in the New York City Housing Authority, NY. Pat Arnaudo, Director of Special Projects, NAHRO Professional Development, is the moderator.
