HUD's Transition Assistance Policy for Lead-Based Paint
HUD has developed a transition assistance policy in connection with the implementation of the new lead-based paint regulations. The policy has three components:

  1. Assistance for Jurisdictions with Inadequate Capacity,
  2. Phase in Period for Post-1960 Properties Receiving Tenant-Based Assistance, and
  3. Phase in Period for Elderly-Occupied Properties Receiving Federal Rehabilitation Assistance Greater than $25,000.

Find out about the new policy, and how it affects your Section 8 and CDBG programs. You'll learn what you need to do in order to submit your statement of inadequate capacity to HUD by November 15,2000.

Moderator:
David Zappasodi
Deputy Director of Administration Housing Authority of the City of Houston (TX)

Featured Speakers:
David Jacobs, Ph.D.
Director, Office of Lead Hazard Control U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, Washington, DC

Dr. Jacobs will be joined by a representative from Public and Indian Housing (PIH) and Community Planning and Development (CPD).
