Part I Regulations as Guideposts (Originally Held May 15, 2003)
The first session focuses on improving your ability to interpret the
regulations to achieve both flexibility and accountability. You will
gain perspective on the importance of taking the opportunity to comment
on new proposed regulations. You will learn how to find the gems in
the definitions and develop strategies for preparing for that phone
call to the HUD Office.
Part II Planning for Success (Originally Held June 12, 2003)
All of HUD's housing and community development programs require public
participation in planning for the use of the next years funding. This
session will help you learn how to navigate through this planning process
so that project implementation will be more satisfying for you and more
effective for your staff and your community.
Part III Program Implementation and Staff Development (Originally
Held July 17, 2003)
You will learn about developing systems that institutionalize the
checks and balances that enable staff to manage the work processes more
effectively and efficiently. In addition, you will learn how to establish
goals and performance measurements that will meet HUD requirements.
