September 9 Online e-Briefing Session

How Capital Financing Expands Affordable Housing

1:30 PM - 3:00 (Eastern Daylight Savings Time)

This special e-Briefing on the Capital Fund Financing Program (CFFP) is designed to give PHA staff a better understanding of the basic requirements for CFFP financing, as well as to provide professional insight of Public Housing Agencies (PHAs) who have been creative in leveraging their capital funds through a CFFP.

The briefing is for PHAs of all sizes involved in the Public Housing Program. This includes Executive Directors, Commissioners, public housing designers and program staff (especially those PHA officials who cannot afford travel expenses).

The e-Briefing objectives include:

1.) To provide an overview of the requirements for doing a CFFP

2.) To provide an example of a PHA which utilized CFFP with RHF and tax credits to undertake redevelopment.

3.) To provide an example of a PHA which utilized CFFP and leveraged Capital Funds with tax credits for improving housing supply and facilitating energy savings through an Energy Performance Contract (EPC).

Panelists include Andrea Davis, Development Financial Analyst Denver Housing Authority, Andre Walters, Director of Funding & Asset Planning, Fayette County Housing Authority, Douglas Rise, Executive Director, Bay City Housing Authority, and Tom Shelton, Public Housing Revitalization Specialist, US Department of Housing and Redevelopment(HUD). Pat Arnaudo, NAHRO's Director of Special Projects for Professional Development, will be the moderator.

1. To attend the class, you will need access to a computer with a high speed Internet connection and a telephone with a standard phone line (preferably with speaker function/capacity).
2. Registrants must have and provide an e-mail address to receive instructions for accessing the online class.
3. Registration cancellation or substitution notices should be sent to thamilton@nahro.org.
