Formula for Change? Previewing the GAO's New Report on the Community Development Block Grant Program

1:30 PM - 3:00 (Eastern Daylight Savings Time)

This special e-Briefing provides valuable information for all agencies, organizations, and individuals concerned with the future of the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. This distance learning opportunity is geared toward community development department and redevelopment agency executive directors and senior operations staff, as well as local officials and other interested parties.

The objectives of the e-briefing are to:

1. Preview the Government Accountability Office’s (GAO’s) long-awaited report on the CDBG formula;

2. Compare and contrast GAO’s conclusions with HUD’s earlier report on the CDBG formula and the Administration’s efforts to institute formula change through program reform legislation;

3. Explore the potential local and regional impacts of formula change; and

(4) examine NAHRO’s positions regarding formula change and its ongoing advocacy related to the CDBG Program.

The presenters will be: Stan Czerwinski, Director of Intergovernmental Relations for the GAO ; Todd Richardson, Director of HUD’s Office of Policy Development and Research Program Evaluation Division; and Jeff Falcusan, NAHRO Policy Advisor for Housing and Community Development. Pat Arnaudo, Director of Special Projects, NAHRO Professional Development, will be the moderator.

1. To attend the class, you will need access to a computer with a high speed Internet connection and a telephone with a standard phone line (preferably with speaker function/capacity).
2. Registrants must have and provide an e-mail address to receive instructions for accessing the online class.
3. Registration cancellation or substitution notices should be sent to thamilton@nahro.org.

To guarantee availability, it is recommended that you register at least 10 days prior to the e-Briefing.
