February, 2010 e-Briefing Session:
Don’t Let the Bed Bugs Bite: Successful Strategies for PHAs
1:30 - 3:00 PM (ET)
Bed bugs are back! Bed bugs were once considered a thing of the past. Recently, international travel, changes in pest control, and a lack of awareness have created widespread infestations of bed bugs in hotels, homes, and now PHAs. This e-Briefing will provide an overview of the science of bed bugs, public health concerns, and tips and best practices to help PHAs better manage bed bugs.
Speakers include: Tom Neltner, Director of the National Healthy Homes Training Center and Network; Allison Taisey, Resource Development Manager at the Department of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Cornell University; and Steve Falek, Associate Director of the Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee. Manuel Ochoa will moderate the session. Listen and learn on how your PHA can get bed bugs under control.
To attend the class:
- You will need access to a computer with a high speed Internet connection and a telephone with a standard phone line (preferably with speaker function/capacity).
- Registrants must have and provide an e-mail address to receive instructions for accessing the online class.
- Registration cancellation or substitution notices should be sent to professionaldevelopment@nahro.org.
