April 07 , 2009 On-Line e-Briefing Session: How PHAs Can Take Advantage of Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) Stimulus Funding

This special e-Briefing provides “how to” guidance for executives, senior staff, and commissioners of all sized Public Housing Agencies (PHAs ) operating all types of programs – public housing, vouchers, etc.
The focus of this 90 minute e-Briefing is to:
- Provide “need to know” information about the Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP).
- Describe successful strategies for collaborating with state and local CD agencies that receive the funding and explain how coordination can “pay off” for PHAs in funding more affordable housing in their communities.
- Showcase PHA leaders who have accessed NSP successfully, and explain first hand “how they did it”.
- Provide tips, program options, and resources to help PHAs effectively seek NSP funding in formula and competitive solicitations.
The presenters will be:
Monte Franke, NAHRO Instructor and Consultant, Principal Franke Consulting Group;
James M. Inglis, Executive Director, Livonia Housing Commission (Livonia, MI); and
Donald May, Executive Director, Adams County Housing Authority (Commerce City, CO)
Pat Arnaudo, Director of Special Projects, NAHRO Professional Development, will be the moderator.
To attend the class:
- You will need access to a computer with a high speed Internet connection and a telephone with a standard phone line (preferably with speaker function/capacity).
