June 3, 2009 e-Briefing Session:Successful Strategies for Winning Your Share of the $1B Available in the Capital Fund Recovery Competition —POSTPONED until June 17th due to “HUD modifications of competitive Capital Fund NOFA”HUD has advised PHAs to delay submitting proposals for the Captial Fund Competitive NOFA; therefore, NAHRO is re-scheduling the June 3 e-Briefing to June 17, 2009 ET in order to provide participants with the most up-to-date information available. 1:30 PM – 3:00 PM (Eastern Time) This special e-Briefing provides “need to know” information by proven experts on how to apply for a Capital Fund Recovery Competitive (CFRC) grant —even if you are not a high performer or have not met HUD’s Capital Fund expenditure rate thresholds. The focus is to: • Obtain an overview of funding strategies and timing. • Describe successful application tactics identified by experts in each of the four funding categories described in the HUD NOFA: 1. Elderly/ Disabled 2. Public Housing Transformation 3. Gap Financing 4. Energy Efficient “Green” Communities • Summarize steps to be taken now to get this additional funding and take advantage of new Recovery Act funds to upgrade public housing stock and facilities and provide needed community employment opportunities.
