Seminars

Residents and Asset Management and the Stimulus

This special “first-time training” on the residents role in asset management will provide the latest information and "how-to" guidance for resident leaders and resident commissioners, as well as PHA resident services staff operating the Public Housing Program.

The one-day course will enable the PHA resident leaders and other participants to:

1). Understand and master the basic requirements of HUD’s asset management program, including the regulatory timeframe for implementation;

2) Learn how residents can perform responsible collaborative roles in asset management both at the AMP/project and PHA levels.

Participants in the course will be provided a Tool Kit of resources and how-to materials related to key components of asset management-occupancy, maintenance, security, and overall project planning and management.  Once the Tool Kit is digested, the instructor will explain how items from the Tool Kit are used in asset management implementation based on two actual case studies  Finally, the instructor will work with all participants in group settings and in a summary general session to explain and showcase how to implement an effective collaborative approach in these key property management areas under asset management.
