Proficiency and Certification Exams

Opportunities to retake a Proficiency Test or to sit for a Certification Exam are available at NAHRO training centers, as long as an test or exam time period is scheduled, and at NAHRO National Conferences (Legislative Conference, Summer Conference and National Conference).  Interested candidates must register in advance for the test or exam, indicating which test or exam they would like to take and at what location and they must pay for the test or exam -- $100 for Proficiency Tests and $200 for Certification Exams. 

NAHRO sends test and exam results only to the individual participant unless authorized by that participant to also send the result to the employer agency or other person(s). To authorize that action by NAHRO, the individual registrant must complete and sign an Exam Authorization Release Form and return it to NAHRO.

Certification Exams ($200 fee applies in addition to any seminar fee)

• Uniform Physical Condition Standards Exam
• Housing Quality Standards Exam
• Housing Choice Voucher Occupancy Exam (NAHRO certification also requires the Housing Choice Voucher Eligibility, Income and Rent Calculation Exam)
• Housing Choice Voucher Eligibility, Income and Rent Calculation Exam (NAHRO certification also requires the Housing Choice Voucher Occupancy Exam)
• Housing Choice Voucher Occupancy, Eligibility, Income and Rent Calculation Exam
• Public Housing Occupancy Exam (NAHRO certification also requires the Public Housing Eligibility, Income and Rent Calculation Exam) 
• Public Housing Eligibility, Income and Rent Calculation (NAHRO certification also requires the Public Housing Occupancy Exam)
