The NAHRO Monitor is a newsletter published by the National Association of Housing & Redevelopment Officials (NAHRO) on the 15th & the end of the month, excluding December 31, & is mailed 1st class.

Ads may be accepted from members and non-members after the deadline date based on available newsletter space. Monitor Editor maintains editorial discretion of all Monitor material.

All advertisers or companies placing ads on behalf of clients who have jobs related to the housing and community development industry can have ads posted to our website and/or published in our newsletter.

Advertisers (non NAHRO members) who place ads for NAHRO member clients must obtain a NAHRO ID member number from an Associate from the member agency and note that number on the ad submission. Unless the advertiser is a NAHRO Associate Individual member, the member agency contact will be notified the ad placed on their behalf is on the Jobs webpage and/or appears in the NAHRO Monitor.

Remember, website only ads have to run a minimum of 10 working days after posting date and a maximum of 30 days.

Ads published in the newsletter have to run a minimum of 10 working days after publication date, or for 30 days if no deadline is provided.

For example, for the 1/15/09 issue, your deadline can be no earlier than 1/30/09.

Issues in italics precede conferences, and so have shortened production schedules and early deadlines.
Red, underlined issue denotes a belated print date due to National Conference - Pending approval.

AD Placement Options

*Ads may be placed either as a

Classified ad - RFPs, RFQs, Invitation to Bid, etc.

or an

Industry Ad - ads that refer specifically to the advertiser's product/service.

Advertisers with Classified or Industry ads may submit them to lrajah@nahro.org as follows:

Industry Service
Submissions/Rates

  • The NAHRO Monitor also accepts industry-related service listings to include consultant listings for the newsletter and website. These ads will appear after the classified ads under a separate heading in the newsletter and follows the classified ads on the website.
  • Starting with the September 15, 2006, NAHRO Monitor, Industry ads will be published on a space available basis to NAHRO members and non-members for commercial messages.
  • Each member is limited to two (2) such submissions a year that will appear approximately six months apart.  As with all other classified ads, members may have a six line ad at no charge.  If you want a longer ad, you will be charged the additional fee of $15 per line.  If members wish to use the feature more than two times a year, they may do so at the non-member rate of $100 for the first six lines, plus $15 per additional line. 
  • Non-members may continue to submit ads in each issue by paying the non-member rate. 
  •  No prepaid ads will be accepted as ads are being placed based on space availability.

Deadline for Responses
Combination (Monitor/Website) & Website only

Ads may run if advertiser's deadline for responses are:

  • For Combination Monitor/website - a minimum deadline of 10 working days after publication date.
  • For Website Only Posting - a minimum deadline of 10 working days after posting date.
  • 30 days, if no deadline date is given, or until the deadline date

Members and non-members may place ads, see rates below. Ads refer to job listings, RFPs, RFQs, Invitation to Bid and Industry Ads. Your ad should contain the following items:

  • MONITOR - Name of position (no city and state will be listed)
  • WEBSITE ONLY - Name of position (city and state will be listed)
  • FOR ALL ADS:
    Description of position, to include salary requirements, qualifications, benefits information. The deadline date, contact person, address, phone, fax, email and/or website will be bolded.Since most ads that are published also go on our website, ads with email and website addresses are hyperlinked which is reflected in the newsletter copy also.
  • Ads should be in Microsoft Word in a plain, text-only format, justified, without letterhead information.
  • We do not accept artwork, logos or photos for newsletter/website postings. If you wish to place a company advertisement, with logos, photos, specific page size, etc., please contact:

Rates
Combination (Monitor/Website) & Website Only

If an ad runs multiple times, you will be charged each time the ad runs or is posted, as follows:

Members

  • receive the first 6 lines (approximately 50 words) FREE.

Non-Members

  • Charged $100 for the first 6 lines.

An additional $15 per line
will be charged to all advertisers for ads exceeding six lines.

To receive the member rate: either the advertiser, the "BILL TO" location or a client having an ad placed on their behalf MUST be a NAHRO member.

Ad Quotes
Combination (Monitor/website) & Website Only ads

All ad submissions will receive a quote. Please read, make corrections, if necessary and provide final confirmation via email to: lrajah@nahro.org

You will receive an email quote that includes how your ad will appear, the estimated calculated rate & additional Monitor information.

Please note the rates provided are estimates - range (+/- $15.00 of actual rate) - not the final rate. The rate applies to both website only and website/newsletter ads, see above.

Please include the billing address, email address and contact person who will receive the invoice.

You will be invoiced via email. It will contain your invoice and a snapshot of how the ad appeared on our website (website only submissions) or inthe Monitor (combination Monitor/website). To view the link to the onsite Monitor link:

Non members - will be provided a temporary userid/password.

Submission Procedures

  • ADS CANNOT BE PLACED ON THE WEB BY ADVERTISERS
Your ad must run a minimum of 10 working days after posting/publication date. If it does not, the ad cannot be placed. You will be asked whether or not you wish your deadline date altered to meet this requirement.

Combination (Monitor/website) and Website Only

  • Final confirmation must be provided on all quotes, no later than close of business 3:00 p.m. ET on the deadline date. If you do not contact us with final confirmation, your ad will not run or appear on NAHRO's Web site.
  • If space permits, ads may be accepted after deadline date - please contact: LaTonya Rajah, 202-580-7206, Email: lrajah@nahro.org.
  • Once final confirmation is received, the ad will be formatted for web posting and/or newsletter layout.
  • Ads are posted to the website the same day final confirmation is provided or, typically, no later than 24 hours after final confirmation has been received.

  • Billing

  • .
  • You will be invoiced and receive a link to the ad as it appeared in the newsletter or a snapshot of the ad as it appeared online. You may pay by credit card once the issue has been published.
  • Use your userid and password to access the jobs section and view your ads on-line. If you are not a member, you will receive a temporary user id and password so you may view the link. If you are member and don't remember your userid and password or are having trouble logging in with your userid/password, please contact Member Services Department, 202-289-3500 to receive the necessary information.   • Method of Payment

    • On publication date, advertisers will be mailed a copy of the Monitor along with one (1) copy of the invoice. To avoid delays in processing your payment, please place the NAHRO order number, on your payment and remit within 30 days. The order number can be found on the upper right hand side of the invoice. Please send a copy of the invoice along with your payment to the address on the invoice. We accept: Check/Money Order, Credit Card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express).

    Discounts

    • NAHRO will give a non-refundable $25 discount to all classified ads that require the applicant to have or obtain the following certificates by a specified date:

      NAHRO Public Housing Manager
      NAHRO Certified Management Executive
      NAHRO Certified Manager of Property Operations
      NAHRO Certified Manager of HVC Operations
      NAHRO Certified Manager of Maintenance Operations
    • The discount is non-refundable, i.e., an ad that ordinarily would cost $15 would be free of charge under this discount - it would not result in a $10 rebate to the advertiser.

    Blind Ads

    • NAHRO will add a $20 surcharge to any ad that is run blind in the Monitor, i.e., an ad in which the advertiser/employer is not named & for which NAHRO will act as contact for responses, receive, compile & forward the responses to the advertiser by mail. (example: Submit resumes and all applicable material to: (NAME OF YOUR POSITION HERE) NAHRO, 630 Eye Street, NW , Washington , DC 20001 .)

    Outstanding Balances

    • Any advertiser with an outstanding balance of 60+ days over due or an agent/recruitment compamy submitting ads on their behalf cannot place additional ads until the outstanding balance has been remitted.
    • If an advertiser wishes to place an ad and our records indicate an outstanding balance and you have remitted payment, please must email the payment check number in question to:
