NH - NASHUA HOUSING AUTHORITY’S NETWORK DISTANCE EDUCATION PROGRAM

Residents and non-residents must have a GED or high school diploma as a prerequisite to the program. If they do not have one, there is help available to them that would enable them to obtain a GED; the housing authority offers funds to public housing residents who qualify. The program provides students from primarily low-income environments a realistic opportunity to access education through an electronic computer network system. The housing authority acts as a "network" site to both Castle College and Learning Networks Foundation. Students are on-line 3 to 5 times per week at two-hour intervals. Financial aid is supplied through federal Pell grants, which will pay tuition. Books have been purchased by the housing authority. Students can also apply for network scholarships offered through Castle College.
