HUD Programs for Public Housing Preservation and Development

In this presentation, HUD’s Office of Urban Revitalization (OUR) will discuss a wide variety of tools PHAs can use to rehabilitate and redevelop public housing units that will remain in the public housing program. This includes financing tools PHAs can use to leverage private funds for rehabilitation, competitive grant programs for public housing capital improvements, and ways PHAs can capitalize on energy efficiency improvements. OUR will also discuss how to develop new units via the Mixed-Finance, Choice Neighborhoods and Faircloth-to-RAD programs.
