Last Day to Send August Advocacy Letters!

August is over, which means it’s time to wrap up August Advocacy. Close out the campaign by urging Congress to finalize FY 2022 HUD funding. The House of Representatives already passed a budget that would increase HUD funding by 14%, including funding for an estimated 125,000 new housing vouchers and $3.4 billion for the Public Housing Capital Fund. However, the Senate has not released a proposed HUD budget at this time.

Send a letter telling your legislators to pass the FY 2022 Transportation-HUD spending bill at the House-approved levels and avoid the need for multiple continuing resolutions. Despite the political obstacles that may slow the passage of FY 2022 T-HUD—including the expiration of the debt limit and competing legislative priorities—Congress has a responsibility to provide timely, full funding for the nation’s affordable housing programs.
