National Recognition Opportunity for Communities with Strong PHA Partnerships – Don’t Miss Out!

The National Civic League is currently accepting applications for the 2022 All-America City awards. Now in its 73rd year, the All-America City (AAC) awards is the country’s preeminent civic engagement recognition, with more than 500 communities of all sizes named as winners. NAHRO partner the Campaign for Grade Level Reading is cohosting the event with the National Civic League.

This year’s theme is “Housing as a Platform to Promote Early School Success and Equitable Learning Recovery.” The awards are co-convened by the Campaign for Grade-Level Reading (CGLR) and focus on uplifting community efforts with meaningful housing partnerships that seek measurable improvement around education and early literacy, particularly given the COVID pandemic.

NAHRO strongly encourages its members that work collaboratively to advance education and learning outcomes for its residents to consider nominating their community for this award. The AAC presents an excellent opportunity to showcase your meaningful efforts towards cultivating housing-education partnerships, including areas such as attendance, out-of-school learning, parent engagement, and digital equity, among others.

Applications are due March 1st. Finalists will be announced in early May and invited to assemble a community team to present at a juried virtual event the week of July 18th, where winners will be announced.

We hope to see many NAHRO communities among the applicants, finalists and winners! If you are interested in nominating your community for an AAC award or would like more information:
