This session will provide a critical exploration of the intersection where written policies and their actual implementation meet. The purpose is to dissect and understand the complexities of DEI in housing and urban development policies, and how they translate-or fail to translate-into equitable practice. Panelists will leverage the “Iceberg Concept” to guide participants through the submerged complexities of systemic inequities, with a specific focus on housing disparities. This conceptual framework will delve beneath the surface of visible issues to explore the systemic roots that underpin the cause of unequal access to housing opportunities and resources in our communities.
