Ask a Lawyer: National Issues

This panel, led by NAHRO’s general counsel Georgi Banna, will look at some of the legal issues facing Public Housing Agencies in the current legislative and regulatory environment. Topics may include questions on immigration; certifications tied to HUD funding streams (including a overview of the status of current lawsuits); potential work requirements; potential time limits; executive orders, and HUD’s ability to impose broad sweeping requirements through guidance absent rulemaking. Feel free to bring other questions, including questions on day-to-day operating requirements (e.g., questions on reasonable accommodations or service animals).

Presenters:
Georgi Banna, Esq., NCC, General Counsel and Director of Strategic Initiatives, NAHRO

Lisa L. Walker, Esq., CEO and General Counsel, Housing and Development Law Institute (HDLI)
