Kris Evans is a Content Specialist in the Professional Development Department, specializing in HUD Programs and Policies. With over 17 years of experience in affordable housing, particularly in Housing Choice Vouchers (HCV) and tenant advocacy, she assists in creating clear training programs and certification exams that simplify complex HUD policies for housing professionals. Kris collaborates with faculty and subject matter experts to ensure alignment with the latest industry standards.
Her career began as a receptionist at the Georgia Department of Community Affairs, where she progressed to leadership roles, including Housing Program Director. She has consulted with public housing agencies nationwide on navigating HUD regulations and managing programs like HCV, Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (VASH), and Project-Based Vouchers (PBV). Most recently, Kris was a Senior Compliance Manager for an international property management company, overseeing compliance in various affordable housing programs.
Outside of work, Kris cherishes time with her daughter, enjoys gardening, and loves spending time with her dogs.
