Lunch Plenary Session

Session Highlights:

Featured Presentations:
*NAHRO Research Report: Join NAHRO staff as they unveil NAHRO’s most extensive analysis of federal housing and community development programs! This report connects existing data on public housing, Section 8, tax credits, and community development programs and compiles it into one resource. Each year, numerous reports are released that focus on high-level housing issues across the country. However, they do not closely examine federally-assisted rental housing or other redevelopment programs. This report aims to fill this gap and provide a hub of information all in one place. Staff will provide an overview of the report and walk through national trends specific to programs with which NAHRO members work most closely. All attendees will be provided a free copy of the report.

*NAHRO August Advocacy: Each year, NAHRO launches an August Advocacy campaign to advocate for affordable housing and community development programs. Learn what topics NAHRO plans to focus on in 2023. NAHRO’s August Advocacy campaign is one of the most important advocacy events of the year and provides members of Congress a timely opportunity to hear from NAHRO members.

Featured Discussion:
Discussion with Congressional Staff on the Future of Housing and Community Development Policy

Congressional staff will join NAHRO Director of Legislative Affairs Tess Hembree and Legislative Network Chair Jennifer Keogh for a conversation about where we stand with housing and community development policy in the 118th Congress and what the future may hold for programs administered by NAHRO members. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear from highly experienced Congressional staff on their thoughts on funding for housing and community development programs in FY 2024, challenges in preserving these programs in the future, and how housing and community development programs may look years from now.
