NAHRO Honors 90 Housing and Community Development Innovators

(BOSTON, July 5) – On July 11, 90 public housing and community development agencies will receive 207 NAHRO Awards of Merit for a wide range of affordable housing and community development programs, including housing for seniors, veterans and families, youth education partnerships, healthcare initiatives, job readiness projects, and more. Many of the winners will answer questions and share insights about their award-winning programs at a special Awards Showcase on Friday, July 12, during NAHRO’s CONNECT to Results conference in Boston, Mass.

“Congratulations to our 2019 Awards of Merit recipients,” said NAHRO President Carl S. Richie, Jr. “I am so proud of the great work they’re doing for their clients and their communities.”

The NAHRO Awards of Merit program was created to give national recognition to the achievement and innovation of NAHRO members throughout the country; to provide additional opportunities to inform the public of the best in housing and community development; and to create a resource bank of information on significant, innovative activities performed by housing and redevelopment agencies and community development departments.

“The Awards of Merit catalog is more than a list of winners,” said NAHRO CEO Adrianne Todman. “It’s a yearly compendium of some of the best work being done by housers and community builders nationwide. Congratulations to this year’s honorees!”

A full list of awardees and descriptions of all the winning programs can be found in NAHRO’s Awards of Merit catalog, available online at
