While the U.S. focuses on Transit Oriented Development, European cities are leading the way in the development of car-light, climate adaptive ecodistricts with abundant social housing. We will explore trends, priorities, and outcomes at the district scale of urban development in the E.U., and discuss the rules and regulations that prevent or restrain these types of resilient communities in the U.S.
