July 7, 2026 — Next week at the 2026 Summer Symposium in Nashville, NAHRO will release the fourth edition of Secure Homes, Strong Communities: A 360 Degree View of America’s Housing and Community Development Programs. While the report is a valuable resource on its own, it’s just one of many NAHRO data tools available to help members tell the story of affordable housing and community development in their communities.
Demonstrate Your Local Economic Impact
Released in conjunction with our 2026 Washington Conference this past March, NAHRO’s Economic Impact Calculator helps agencies quantify the economic value generated by federal housing and community development programs.
Housing and community development programs create immediate economic activity through construction, rehabilitation, and day-to-day operations while also producing long-term benefits, including job creation and additional leveraged investments. Because each federal program operates differently, the calculator uses the most appropriate methodology for estimating economic impacts across program types, providing members with reliable data to support conversations with elected officials and community partners.
Updated Housing Data Dashboard Now Available
In advance of the release of the new Secure Homes, Strong Communities report, NAHRO has also updated its Housing Data Dashboard with the latest available housing and community development data.
The interactive dashboard provides state-level information that members can use to better understand housing programs and the families they serve. These tools can help respond to media inquiries and strengthen advocacy efforts with federal, state, and local policymakers.
