NAHRO Advocates: You Did It!

Thanks to the hard work of NAHRO advocates, NAHRO sent nearly 13,000 letters to members of Congress and the White House, imploring them to take quick action on COVID-19 relief and affordable housing. This far exceeds our initial goal of 8,501 letters.

During this critical time in our nation’s history, you amplified your voices in Washington. NAHRO members sent 12,901 letters on topics ranging from additional COVID-19 relief for HUD and unassisted renters, universal voucher access, affordable housing supply, resident services, and the upcoming FY 2021.

NAHRO also thanks its region and state chapters, which were instrumental in helping us achieve our goal. The North Central Regional Council (NCRC) led the fight, sending 3,864 letters from their region alone.

As the nation continues to grapple with the COVID-19 health crisis and its economic fallout, the work you did this summer will be critical in ensuring that housing is a central part of the ongoing conversation in Washington.
