Senate Takes Step Toward Major Housing Infrastructure Investments, Speak Up Now

Housing is infrastructure took a big step forward this morning: the Senate approved a sweeping budget resolution that could be the largest investment in housing programs HUD has seen in generations. Speak up in support of housing is infrastructure and vouchers for all now.

The Senate approved a bipartisan infrastructure package on Aug. 10, a smaller scale package that does not include housing. Immediately after, the Senate turned to a budget resolution that will provide lawmakers with instructions on how to draft a much larger infrastructure package that does include billions of dollars for housing. After hours of votes on non-binding amendments, the Senate approved the budget resolution.

Lawmakers will now begin the process of drafting the legislative language that will be the larger infrastructure package.
