Advocacy Engagement Report Form

NAHRO members engage with decision-makers in Washington and across the country every day to house our communities. NAHRO calls these Advocacy Engagements; we track these to follow the work we know you’re doing on behalf of your communities. For NAHRO, knowing where our members are already engaged helps us do more targeted work and reach our advocacy goals! For you, it connects to a broader network of advocates and helps you follow the amazing work your colleagues are doing every single day.

What are Advocacy Engagements?

Let’s Get Creative!

Advocacy Engagements are any interaction with elected officials (or their staff) at the local, state, and federal levels, or with political appointees from HUD. You’re doing this work already: phone calls; meetings; attending or hosting town halls, tours, site visits, ribbon cuttings, groundbreaking ceremonies, or fairs. But we want you to get creative and make your advocacy for your community reflect your creativity, your community, and your team’s strengths! If you’re talking about the importance of housing during an interview (for an article, on the radio or on a podcast), canvassing, or even running a social media awareness campaign, NAHRO wants to know about it. We encourage your creativity and can’t wait to see what your housing and community development advocacy looks like!
