NAHRO Capitol Hill Day
NAHRO’s Capitol Hill Day is an opportunity for NAHRO members to visit Capitol Hill and meet with lawmakers to discuss affordable housing and community development issues facing their communities. This is a critical opportunity for members to make a personal connection with Washington, DC-based Congressional offices and their staff.

2026 Hill Day Recap
NAHRO’s Legislative Affairs Team, with help from Advocacy Associates, has compiled data from this year’s history-making Hill Day campaign. NAHRO grew it’s Hill Day participants almost 10%, increasing from 514 in 2025 to 563 in 2026! NAHRO members also increased the number of Hill Meetings from last year meeting with 46% (3% increase) of House offices and 90% (14% increase) of Senate offices. NAHRO additionally raised its national participation from 42 states in 2025 to 45 states (plus Guam and the US Virgin Islands) in 2026.
Preparing for Hill Day
Initial meeting schedules are e-mailed to attendees from Advocacy Associates a week prior to the Washington Conference. Please be aware that meeting times frequently change, even at the last minute. Schedules are also accessible via the Advocacy Associates app/website.

Federal housing and community development programs deliver substantial economic value through a broad array of positive impacts. Programs generate immediate economic activity through construction and operations as well as long-term societal benefits, job creation, and private investment leverage. NAHRO’s new Economic Impact Calculator reflects these differences by using the most appropriate and reasonable metric for each program.
