2026 State and Territory-Level Data Flyers

Our updated, interactive data flyers summarize federal affordable housing program data and their impact at the state, territory, and national levels. These print-ready documents highlight federal funding from major sources, break down Housing Choice Voucher and Public Housing program statistics and demographics, summarize the number individuals experiencing homelessness and list the number of Project-Based Rental Assistance and Low-Income Housing Tax Credit units. Whether you’re meeting with your Senators or Representative on Hill Day, holding community meetings, or simply getting the word out in your communities, we encourage you to use these flyers to support NAHRO’s vision of thriving communities with affordable homes for all.

Definitions apply according to the selected geography. For example, data in the National Data flyer consists of all data for all geographies nationally. Data for a specific state encompasses all housing entities operating these programs within a given state. Unless otherwise noted, measures are from calendar year 2024.

Economic Impact Calculator

Federal housing and community development programs deliver substantial economic value through a broad array of positive impacts. Programs generate immediate economic activity through construction and operations as well as long-term societal benefits, job creation, and private investment leverage. NAHRO’s new Economic Impact Calculator reflects these differences by using the most appropriate and reasonable metric for each program.
