Title: PHA Operations for Executive Leaders of Small Agencies

Description:
Are you a small PHA leader new to the position or affordable housing?  We’ve got you covered!  Leading a small housing agency is rewarding, but if you’re new to the industry or have been promoted from program management, it can also be a bit overwhelming. This brand-new course will assist new (or newer) executive leaders of small agencies in developing a strong foundation for success. You’ll explore fundamental agency operations, key decision points and systems, and leave this class understanding common programs, the impacts of key decisions on your programs, human resource basics, HUD systems, budgets, plans, and more.

Objectives: After completing this training, participants will be able to:

  • Develop strategies for budget development and presentation to their board.
  • Recognize the connections between the Capital Fund program and the agency planning process.
  • Explore key HUD systems.
  • Recognize the impacts of key agency operational plans and policies on their programs.
  • Review key human resources functions and their importance to organizational success.

NAHRO Faculty: Jim Inglis, NAHRO Principal Faculty
