Certification Requirements
LESS Than Seven Years’ Experience in the Housing & Community Development Industry
1. Successful Completion of the following seminars or equivalent:
- High Performance Management or equivalent (1.0 CEUs minimum)
- Ethics for Management
AND 3.8 NAHRO CEUs (Continuing Education Units, 38 hours) or equivalent elective education related to the certification area:
Appropriate NAHRO Trainings Include:
- Public Housing Eligibility, Income and Rent Calculation
- Section 3 and Labor Standards
- Uniform Physical Condition Standards (UPCS)
- Procurement and Contract Management
- Introduction to Mixed Finance Development for Public Housing Authorities
2. Passing grade on the NAHRO CMPO Certification Exam

1. Successful Completion of the following seminars or equivalent:
- NAHRO’s online Ethics for Management (0.2 CEUs minimum, 2 hours)
2. Passing grade on the NAHRO CMPO Certification Exam

Recertification:
- 1.95 CEUs (19.5 hours) required every 3 years from date of certification
