Overview
By achieving NAHRO’s Certified Specialist of Occupancy (CSO-HCV) designation, an individual has demonstrated that he/she has the knowledge, skills and ability necessary to understand the housing choice voucher occupancy cycle. This individual understands the importance of and agrees to adhere to the highest standard of professional conduct.
Certification is achieved by completing the requirements for:
- Experience (at least six months experience in the Housing and Redevelopment Industry, more than five years waiving the industry training requirement)
- Education (High School diploma or equivalent plus industry training)
- Ethics (completing NAHRO Ethics Seminar and subscribing to the NAHRO Code of Professional Conduct)
- Passing NAHRO Certification Exam
Certification Requirements:
OPTION A: LESS Than Five Years’ Experience in the Housing & Redevelopment Industry
A1. Successful Completion of the following NAHRO seminars or equivalent training by another provider:
A2. Successfully Passed the following NAHRO Certification Exam:
OR the Housing Choice Voucher Occupancy, Eligibility, Income and Rent Calculation Exam
A3. Successful Completion of:
A4. Completion of Certification Application
OPTION B: MORE Than Five Years’ Experience in the Housing & Redevelopment Industry
B1. Successfully Passed the following NAHRO Certification Exam:
OR the Housing Choice Voucher Occupancy, Eligibility, Income and Rent Calculation Exam
